Bullion (BU) Silver Eagles

The standard bullion American Silver Eagle was first issued in 1986 and has been struck every year since, making it the longest continuously running U.S. silver bullion coin. These coins contain one troy ounce of .999 fine silver and typically lack a mintmark, though some special strikes have been identified as originating from Philadelphia, San Francisco, or West Point during times of high demand. Collectors pursue not only the first-year 1986 release, but also conditional rarities certified in perfect MS70. Another important issue is the 2021 Type 2, which introduced Emily Damstra’s new landing eagle reverse, marking a major transition in the program. Over nearly four decades, BU Silver Eagles have become a global standard for silver investment while offering variety appeal for numismatists. Here

Proof Silver Eagles

Proof Silver Eagles also began in 1986, produced with frosted devices and mirrorlike fields for collectors. These proofs have been issued almost every year, with the exception of 2009, when the Mint suspended them due to overwhelming demand for bullion coins during the financial crisis. Proofs are usually struck at San Francisco (“S”), Philadelphia (“P”), or West Point (“W”), depending on the year, and carry those mintmarks. The series includes some of the most celebrated modern rarities in U.S. coinage: the 1995-W Proof, issued only in the 10th Anniversary Set, has a tiny mintage of just 30,125 coins, making it the “key” to the proof series. More recently, the 2019-S Enhanced Reverse Proof, with a mintage of only 30,000, sold out instantly and now commands strong premiums. Here
