Historical Significance
North Dakota was the 39th coin released in the 50 State Quarters Program and the fourth issue of 2006. It commemorates North Dakota’s admission to the Union on November 2, 1889, and its “Badlands with Bison” design reflects one of the state’s most recognizable natural landscapes and historic symbols.
Collectibility
This silver proof issue was included in the 2006 United States Mint 50 State Quarters Silver Proof Set, which featured all five 2006 state quarters struck in 90% silver. Its lower mintage than the clad proof version, silver composition, and highly popular bison reverse make it a desirable addition to modern silver proof quarter sets
