Historical Significance

Olympic National Park is famous for its dramatic range of environments—from Pacific coastline to glacier-capped peaks like Mount Olympus. The elk theme is especially fitting: the National Park Service notes that in 1909 President Theodore Roosevelt created Mount Olympus National Monument to protect habitat for the Roosevelt elk, and the area was later redesignated as Olympic National Park in 1938.

Collectibility

The 2011-P Olympic quarter is a strong, affordable album coin with a reported circulating mintage of 30,400,000.
