Each 100 oz bar features a simplistic, elegant design. The obverse features the bar’s only engravings, i.e. weight, purity, logo and individualized serial number. Engelhard’s roots stem back to 1902 in Newark, New Jersey where it was established as a refinery by Charles Engelhard, Sr. Through personal acquisitions and joint ventures, the Engelhard name quickly earned its reputation for craftsmanship, attention to detail and quality. In May of 2006, the company’s leadership was transferred to BASF SE, a German chemical company.
