CVC & Collectables presents the 1999-S Georgia State Quarter Gem Proof, a San Francisco–struck clad proof of the fourth design in the 50 State Quarters Program. Historical Significance
Released on July 19, 1999, the Georgia State Quarter followed Delaware, Pennsylvania, and New Jersey as the fourth coin in the program, marking Georgia’s place as the 4th state admitted to the Union in 1788.
The peach celebrates Georgia’s “Peach State” identity, while the live oak sprigs honor the official state tree. The motto “Wisdom, Justice, Moderation,” drawn from the state seal, reflects the civic ideals Georgia chose to present on its circulating commemorative—captured here in high-contrast proof format for collectors.
Collectibility
With a mintage just over 3.7 million, the 1999-S Georgia clad proof is far scarcer than the hundreds of millions of P and D business strikes and is a must-have for complete State Quarter proof runs.
