Historical Significance
Iowa’s quarter was the 29th coin in the 50 State Quarters Program and the fourth released in 2004. The reverse design honors Iowa’s long emphasis on education and was based on “Arbor Day,” a painting by Iowa-born artist Grant Wood.
Collectibility
This silver proof issue appeals to collectors of modern U.S. silver proof coinage and complete State Quarter sets. Its proof finish, 90% silver composition, and Grant Wood-inspired reverse give it stronger collector interest than a standard circulation strike. This is an inference based on its silver proof format and official design attributes.
