Design
Obverse:
John Flanagan’s classic portrait of George Washington, as refined by William Cousins, with the inscriptions “UNITED STATES OF AMERICA,” “LIBERTY,” “IN GOD WE TRUST,” and “QUARTER DOLLAR.”
Reverse:
The reverse depicts the ancient Nankoweap Granaries built into the cliffs overlooking the Grand Canyon. Constructed by the Ancestral Puebloan people, these stone granaries were used to store corn, beans, and seeds high above the Colorado River. The design includes the inscriptions “GRAND CANYON,” “ARIZONA,” “2010,” and “E PLURIBUS UNUM.”

The 2010-S Grand Canyon National Park Silver Proof Quarter was issued only in the 2010 America the Beautiful Quarters Silver Proof Set and the 2010 U.S. Mint Silver Proof Set. With a mintage of 859,417, it is one of the lower-mintage silver proof quarters in the America the Beautiful series and remains a favorite among collectors of modern U.S. quarters and national park coinage.
