About Glacier National Park
Established as a national park in 1910, Glacier National Park spans more than one million acres in northwestern Montana along the Canadian border. Known as the “Crown of the Continent,” the park is famous for its alpine meadows, pristine lakes, rugged mountains, and diverse wildlife, including mountain goats, grizzly bears, and moose. The mountain goat featured on the coin is one of the park’s most recognizable symbols.
Collectibility
With a final uncirculated collector mintage of only 20,856 pieces, the 2011-P Glacier National Park issue is among the scarcer early Philadelphia-mint ATB 5 oz releases. Collectors appreciate the coin for its attractive wildlife design, low mintage, and connection to one of America’s most celebrated national parks. Original government packaging with the box and COA adds additional collector appeal.
