Emperor History:
Gallienus initially ruled alongside his father Valerian before becoming sole emperor following Valerian’s capture by the Sasanian Persians in AD 260. Despite severe political and military pressures, Gallienus introduced important military reforms and remained emperor until his assassination in AD 268.
