Privately Minted / Government Issued
-
Privately Minted Rounds – Produced by refineries and mints such as Sunshine, Scottsdale, and Engelhard. They usually carry lower premiums and offer a huge variety of designs, from patriotic themes to vintage art bars.
-
Government Issued Coins – Produced by official mints like the U.S. Mint (Silver Eagles) or the Royal Canadian Mint (Maple Leafs). These carry face values, are guaranteed by their issuing governments, and often command slightly higher premiums due to recognition and collectibility.
Prices are quoted per troy ounce, not per standard ounce (1 troy oz = 31.1035 grams).
