Historical Significance
Released on April 2, 2007, the Washington quarter was the 42nd coin issued in the 50 State Quarters Program, matching Washington’s place as the 42nd state admitted to the Union on November 11, 1889. The design highlights two of the state’s best-known symbols, Mount Rainier and the king salmon, making it especially popular with both State Quarter collectors and Pacific Northwest enthusiasts.
Collectibility
This silver proof issue was included in the 2007 United States Mint 50 State Quarters Silver Proof Set. Its lower mintage than the clad proof version, silver composition, and widely admired salmon-and-mountain reverse make it a strong addition to modern U.S. silver proof sets and complete State Quarter collections.
