About Chickasaw National Recreation Area
Located near Sulphur, Oklahoma, Chickasaw National Recreation Area is renowned for its mineral springs, lakes, streams, and scenic landscapes. Originally protected through efforts of the Chickasaw Nation, the area has served as a recreational destination for over a century. The Lincoln Bridge remains one of the park’s most recognizable landmarks and was chosen as the focal point of the coin’s reverse design.
Collectibility
With a final collector mintage of only 16,827 pieces, the 2011-P Chickasaw ranks as one of the scarcer early Philadelphia-mint ATB 5 oz collector issues. Its combination of low mintage, original government packaging, and attractive park design has made it a popular choice among both ATB series collectors and silver investors. The coin also represents the final 2011 release in the five-coin ATB program for that year.
