Design
The reverse depicts Chapel Rock and the lone white pine tree that grows atop the formation, connected to the mainland by a resilient root system. This iconic landmark is one of the most recognizable features of Pictured Rocks National Lakeshore and symbolizes the area’s rugged natural beauty.
The obverse features the portrait of George Washington used throughout the America the Beautiful series.
