Obverse:
Features the effigy of King Charles III by Canadian artist Steven Rosati, along with the coin’s inscriptions identifying the monarch and denomination.
Reverse:
Designed by Filipino-Canadian artist Bert Monterona, the reverse features concentric rings filled with culturally significant Filipino imagery. A rope motif represents interconnected strength and diversity, while triangular patterns evoke both Philippine mountain ranges and festive banderitas. The design also incorporates the Sarimanok, intertwined hearts, Canadian maple leaves, and traditional okir motifs.
At the center is an imitation mother-of-pearl element placed over an engraved sun motif, symbolizing freedom, unity, the Philippines’ natural abundance, and its cultural treasures. This coin also marks the Royal Canadian Mint’s first collaboration with Bert Monterona.
