Historical Significance
Dedicated in 1941, Mount Rushmore National Memorial was sculpted by Gutzon Borglum and his son Lincoln Borglum. The monument features the likenesses of Presidents George Washington, Thomas Jefferson, Theodore Roosevelt, and Abraham Lincoln, symbolizing the birth, growth, development, and preservation of the United States. The reverse design uniquely depicts the monument during its construction rather than the completed memorial seen today.
Collectibility
The 2013-P Mount Rushmore is one of the more popular America the Beautiful issues due to its iconic subject matter and broad appeal among collectors. With a collector mintage of just 23,547 pieces, it remains significantly scarcer than many modern silver bullion issues. Examples accompanied by the original U.S. Mint box and COA are especially desirable for collectors building complete Philadelphia-mint ATB sets.
