The 2008-P Hawaii State Quarter is the 50th and final coin in the U.S. 50 State Quarters Program. It features Hawaiian monarch King Kamehameha I extending his hand toward the eight main Hawaiian Islands, along with the state motto “Ua Mau ke Ea o ka ʻĀina i ka Pono” (“The life of the land is perpetuated in righteousness”).
This Philadelphia issue is a standard copper-nickel clad circulation quarter, not a silver coin. Only the S-mint silver proof version was struck in 90% silver for collector sets.
