Gordian III, lived from AD 225 to 244. Took power after the deaths of joint emperors Gordian I and Gordian II in 238. Initially, Roman Senate proclaimed two elderly senators Pupienus and Balbinus. The public and the Praetorian Guard in Rome distrusted the Senate’s nominees and insisted on making the 13-year-old Gordian (grandson of Gordian I and nephew of Gordian II) caesar and heir to the throne. He later was killed by Persians Troops during war and was succeeded Philip The Arabian.
